Hosted by the Data Just Lab at Texas A&M University, Exploring AI & Data Science’s Impact on Society Consortium will include lectures by professionals and academics from across Texas, as well as a workshop that leads participants through AI & Data Science.

Abstract

The idea of this one day consortium is to bring together AI academics, professionals and students together and create a reciprocal environment where the participants share their experiences with AI and Data Science. For the professionals they will share their work and approaches to the field. Academics will share their research and projects. Students will share their lived reality with AI and Data Science, socially, culturally and academically.

The consortiums mission is to:
• Provide a public facing facilitative dialog between researchers, professionals and students.
• Give students direct experiences with AI & Data Science issues in terms of social justice and advocacy.
• Create an opportunity for ideating new initiatives.
