Abstract

Dr. Lu Tang and Dr. Theodora Chaspari hosted a health equity & data panel in which participants joined to learn more about the relationship among social media, algorithms, misinformation, fairness, and health disparities. This workshop/panel helped us apply the notions of AI fairness and ethics to a specific topical context of health. It drew a slightly different audience and membership based on topical expertise rather than only on data analysis expertise. It also demonstrated practical and applied ways in which data justice works.
